I lost my camera.
On my way back from Texas 2 weeks ago, I left my camera on the CTA. I was tired from not going to bed until about 2 am, and having to be up for a 6 am flight; i just wanted to get home and rest, it was a stupid mistake, and no one else’s fault but my own.
It was an original, first run Canon AE-1, Canon’s first camera with an electronic light meter built into it. With it, I lost 2 1/2 rolls of undeveloped film, which included pictures from Philadelphia, New Jersey, and Austin.
Losing the pictures sure does suck, but not as bad as this: That camera was originally purchased by my dad. When he passed away in 2005, it was the only thing of his that I asked for, thereby becoming the only possession of his that I had left. I was, and continue to be, absolutely crushed. I know possessions are simply that, but this one was my most prized possession, I could lose anything else in the world, and yet I had to lose that.
I will continue to post photos I have currently, but nothing new will be coming any time soon. I now no longer have a camera, and this blog was dedicated to only analog 35mm pictures. I need to replace the camera, because I am not going to give up on photography; my dad would not let me if he were alive today.
So, in light of this, I beg you, please purchase prints of my photos; It will go along way in helping me replace the camera, and getting back to doing something my dad and I shared a common love with. Share this blog, and help me continue taking photos.
